VINTAGE 18 Vickers SAS VISCOUNT PLANE & RAMP BATTERY OPERATED WORKING EXCELLENT

  

Always please ask if you are not sure. Here is a fantastic vintage 1960s VICKERS VISCOUNT Airplane with RAMP by Tomy Toys of Japan, with its original box and in excellent working condition.

This is a fantastic example of this extremely rare and wonderful toy. As can be seen in the video, the motor (which requires 2 D batteries which are not included) is in exceptional condition and really strong and powerful.

I've turned the front jockey wheel fully so as the plane can turn in circles to be filmed. Three of the four propellers turn really well, the fourth turns intermittently. The propellers are all original and in excellent condition. The bodywork of the plane is very good to excellent with just a few small scratches to the tin litho paintwork on the fuselage here and there.

The grey plastic bodywork for the wings is in excellent condition. The tin battery compartment cover is original and in great condition, as is the battery compartment which is nice and clean. The green and red flashing lights on the wing tips are original and work beautifully and the controls in the cockpit are all excellent. When the cockpit canopy is closed the engine engages its forward gear and the plane starts taxing for takeoff. The fabulous and very rare RAMP staircase with three passengers who are climbing the stairs is all original and in good condition.

The tin litho of the ramp is excellent with just one or two marks and the gearing mechanism locates inside the rear cabin doorway and the revolving gear turns the staircase wheel. Unfortunately the rubber track is slipping on the gearing so the people are struggling to climb the stairs. The rubber is slightly perished and has been mended in a couple of places and has one or two small splits.

The original box is in excellent condition and is good and strong with just some light fading to the print. This is a very large airplane at over 18 inches long. This is an incredibly rare toy in such good condition and great working order, especially with such an excellent box, so don't miss this opportunity to grab it, it has been the pride of my collection for the last twenty five years but now it is time for it to move on.
