Rare 50´s Japan Bandai Boat Ss Silver Mariner B-581 Tin Toy Battery Operated

  
The full-size vessel was owned by the US Maritime Administration and was renamed the "Pioneer Ming" and later the American Legacy. The toy was made in Japan in the 1950's decade by Bandai. Since the end of World War II until 1952, Japan was occupied by the Allied Forces, mostly American, and this had a huge influence on its popular culture. The golden age of Japanese toy production was the 1950s and 1960s, when a wide range of inertia-driven mechanical tin toys, friction motors, clockworks, and battery operated were produced. They not only flooded the US market, but the whole world. The wide range of transportation vehicles, from airplanes to fire trucks, have tin-printed details and offer a fascinating history of transportation in miniature. It is in excellent condition, with minor wear and rust marks on the lithograph and some color fading over time. The crane is in perfect condition. The battery compartment is clean and free of rust. The piece does not work.
