Battery Operated RACE - TIME by MARX Vintage, BIG Rare Horse Racing Tin Toy Boxed. This listing is for a very hard to find Louis Marx & Co battery operated, Race-Time Tin Litho Toy, complete with it's original box.

Toy is approximately 28 inches long by 8 inches wide, mainly beautiful tin litho graphics on the toy. Toy is in very good cosmetic condition. Box is in poor condition, see pics for details. With a great look to it all, from the graphics on the box to the whole horse racing set up. Operates on D batteries which are not included. Here's how this toy works. Bring all horses to the starting gate.

Press the Green Starting bell, will hear a kind of ringing sound. Press the Start Race button and the race begins!

Ll of the horses take off, and slowly move forward as the small ball bearings hit them, advancing each horse toward the finish line. When the horses reach the finish line, there are lights, some of which light up, so no long do, bulbs are probably burnt out. Horses advance slowly as you can see in the video, which we cut after about a minute or so. The horses may or may not reach the finish line depending on how level the surface the toy is on. We let the toy run a few minutes and the horses almost reached the finish line.

Then pressed the Stop Button (plastic red piece is missing). And the toy stopped as you will see in the video. We can't guarantee that the horses will reach the finish line because of the surface you may have the toy on but in any event, its fun to. Watch the race as the ball bearings keep shooting up and hitting the horses from behind advancing them toward the finish line. Makes a really colorful display piece too, see photos for overall condition of both the toy and box.
