1960s Sears ARMORED KNIGHTS CONTEST SET in BOX Remote Control Battery Toy RARE

  
This listing is for a 1960s ARMORED KNIGHTS CONTEST SET made in Japan by Sears. This rare set is rather large, with the box measuring 15 inches long and each. The set consists of two remote controlled armored knights and 4 decorative diorama knights. The armored knights are made of plastic with a metal base, tin shields, rubber horse tails, and cloth horse skirts. The set is complete, including the joists and instructions.

I tried testing the knights with batteries, but no love. Cosmetically, the set looks and displays great, especially with the box. At 60 years old there are some age related melts and brittleness on the diorama knight swords and horse tails, with some repairs, but they still look very presentable.

The box shows storage wear with some minor repairs, but still looks great with its wonderful artwork. A rare and attractive set, almost impossible to find in this condition. This item is in the category "Toys & Hobbies\Electronic, Battery & Wind-Up\Battery Operated\Pre-1970".
