1950's Yonezawa Japan Tin Battery Op Toy Pan Am Douglas DC-8 Jet Airplane & Box

  

I will be listing a large quantity of toys over the next few weeks. Very large Yonezawa of Japan tin battery operated jet airplane toy with original box. This toy measures a large 18" long with a 17.5" wingspan! The battery box is very clean.

There are 2 on/off switches for this toy, one labeled 1 and the other labeled 2; turn on the first one and the 4 engines under the wings light up while it makes a whirring sound, turn on the second one and the wheels roll forward! Marked "PAN AMERICAN" on the side and "PAA" on the wing. The litho is still super clean and glossy with almost no wear. It comes in the original box with beautiful graphic label of the airliner in the night sky!

The operating instructions are affixed under the box lid. The front wheel is off and I'm not sure how to re-attach it. CONDITION: The airplane is in glossy condition with very little wear, there is some scratching under the tail. The front wheel is off with a washer and spring; I'm not sure how it reattaches or if a washer or lock nut is missing.
