1960s MODERN TOYS BATTERY OPERATED TIN MAKE UP BEAR TOY JAPAN. We have available for sale a RARE and very hard to find battery operated tin toy called the Make-Up Bear, by Modern Toys. This tin toy was made in Japan in the 1960s.

As you can see in the pictures his eyes light up like they are supposed! We put batteries into the very clean battery compartment and they worked!

The bear does not rock, but we don't know if we are supposed to do something different or if it just doesn't work with the rocking, but just the eyes are working. Overall, this toy is in EXCELLENT shape! The bear stills holds his make-up sponge and mirror. The bib is still vibrant and the paint on the tin toy is just perfect! There is a section on the side of his right face where the fur is coming away from the head.

You can see it in the picture. It doesn't look like a rip, but that the gluing of it has come undone from the head. This bear comes with it's ORIGINAL BOX. There is some writing on the box on one end as shown in the picture.

Otherwise, the box is in phenomenal shape! It does have a stale old smell to it. Maybe smoke smell, but we aren't sure. Maybe Febreeze it a couple of times.

Please note, you only smell it up close!!! We have done nothing to it to keep it in the estate condition we found it in. Maybe just airing out outside of the box will help too as we believe it has been stored in it's box for years and years. All in all, a truly RARE find, as you will agree!
