PALITOY of England - 1977 Star Wars - Tallking R2-D2 8 Action Figure. Made for the UK market. It's almost an identical copy to the Vintage 1977 Kenner 12 Star Wars figure line up of.

The difference is this one inside, came with a mini record player and is battery operated and talks saying a statement. When you press the button on front of R2's chest, each phrase is spoken by a SW character voice. Looks pretty much just like the Kenner 8 plastic large scale figure, except no death star plans in body. All 4 phrases work perfectly at correct speed. Each are played at random when button is pressed.

"Help me ObiWon Kenobi" - Leias voice. "This message is vital to the rebels" - Leia's voice. Some slight yellowing at joints but not bad at all. 92% of the box is original from Palitoy in the UK. I got this with no lid and tears to the front.

So I fabricated a half ass piece from scratch. I used black Sharpie marker to touch up all the missing black ink on the box. The top lid and all 4 insides are reinforced with brown reinforcing strapping tape. Bottom lid is untouched and solid perfect. There is a few painted spots too on the front box graphics I touched up with other colors as needed.

The red backing cardboard, brown folded cardboard filler that goes under R2D2 to fill box space, and 2 white protective sleeves with holes ARE ALL ORIGINAL Palitoy and not repros.
