The color, fur, face, tassels look new. The fur is over a tin body. The battery box is clean. It takes 3 D Size batteries. When you turn the switch on it walks, both eyes light, and the head will shake, ears and will flop with the motion - very strange looking toy. The hand held shaker has a wooden handle and bells.
The box shows you can turn the toy on and off by touching the lion in certain places with the shaker. I will send a copy. The first time I tried touching the chin and tail using my finger it turned on and off. I've tried it since but it doesn't seem to work.
Maybe I'm not touching the right spot. Maybe you need to touch with the shaker but the toy does work well using the on - off switch. The Original box is in good shape. It is Titled LION PLAYING BALL and has the number ME 795.
The box has some normal storage/shelf wear with small creases and one small 1/2 tear on side edge of the cover. All the staples seem intact. This a a very rare early Chinese Toy from the 1960's complete and with the Original Box. The pictures are part of this description. If you have any questions, please ask.
