PROFESSOR OWL THE FRIENDLY TEACHER BATTERY OPERATED TOY WITH BOX 1950s WORKS BOTH DISCS NEAR MINT. Here is a rare original 1950's Yonezawa Japan Professor Owl The Friendly Teacher Tin Battery Operated Educational Toy and Original Box. This is a very scarce and desirable battery operated toy that rarely comes up for sale especially complete with both disks and working plus the original instruction sheet! This toy is made of tin, it is quite large at 8 inches long X 8.5 inches tall. It looks like the hand behind his back was glued back on at one time or another, hard to notice, I almost missed it.

The toy is in great condition with hardly any wear. It works great as well. Here's how he works, he turns on the floor, his head turns, he points at the blackboard and at you, his beak opens and he chirps like he's talking, the disc spins as he points with a picture of the object and then the word. It was a great teaching toy for very young children in the 1950's. The box is included but in only fair condition with wear, tears and some tape One side panel is missing a large piece.

All in all a great vintage 60 + year old toy that doesn't show up very often. Please check out my other toys.
